Level 5 Styling - 'Acquired' Photoshoot

For this project, we were expected to produce a fashion shoot for a Spring Summer 2011 magazine issue. My chosen magazine was Nico.

My concept for this project began by looking at OCD and mental illness, with the act of 'acquiring' things.

I looked up the opposite of 'acquired' which is 'to lose' and 'to destroy or demolish'. Following this, I looked at buildings being destroyed and knocked down, as well as barren demolition sites.

For my photoshoot, I decorated the left side of the image with flowers, layed out in completely straight lines, with the left side of the model's clothes all structured and tailored. This side represents OCD.

The right side of the image is more scattered, representing demolition. The model is ripping up the flowers, throwing them about and generally destroying them! The right hand side of the model's structured clothing is shredded and destroyed to represent demolition.

The model's make up was inspired by bruising to signify the force of a demolition ball hitting a building.
